Thank you for visiting my website! Here's some information about my background
and my practice.
Training and Experience
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with 25 years of experience
in the mental health field, in several psychiatric settings and in private
practice. I received my Master's Degree in Social Work from Boston College
in 1988. My other training includes postgraduate studies in alcoholism
treatment at Boston University, Gestalt Therapy training at the Gestalt
Institute of New England, and training in Sandplay practice.
About My Practice
In addition to my conventional training, I have been involved with intuitive
and spiritual development since childhood. Over the years, I have designed
insightful approaches to healing that focus on process, engage creativity,
and seek to integrate mind, body, emotion and spirit. My therapeutic approach
integrates elements of Gestalt Therapy, traditional psychotherapy and
Jungian approaches based in contemporary shamanism. While my practice
includes individual, couples, group and family therapy and addresses issues
such as personal growth, relationships, loss and transition, anxiety and
depression, my specialty is deep healing work of issues related to childhood
loss and trauma in both children and adults. This includes for some of
my clients, the use of Sandtray Therapy and mindfulness meditation. My shamanic perspective has been
effective in helping to reveal the inner patterns and connections underlying
outer events. It works therapeutically with stories, fairy tales, symbols
and metaphors to help people alter their perception of problems and identify
new possibilities in a way that will help prompt positive life changes.
My interests in personal growth, spirituality and culture are expressed
in my poetry and writing as well as my professional work. |
